Roses are red
Violets are blue
The government’s job
Is not to rule you!

Take from the rich
Give to the poor
The government says
That this is the cure.

China is bad
Russia was worse.
The communists fail
They can’t reimburse

Yours is the purse,
Yours is the choice;
‘cause freedom is yours
So trader rejoice!

Tariffs are “blah”
Taxes aren’t cool
“hands off!” is the key—
The laissez-faire rule

Have is supply
Need is demand
Together they work:
“invisible hand.”

Roses are red
Free market’s true
It benefits me;
It benefits you!

  1. I love this! Did you write it yourself? It seriously made my day. :)

      Yes I did…since it was one of my only attempts at poetry it took awhile to make sure the rythm was right…but I like the way it came out. Glad you like it!

  2. Really like the poem! Good job on getting the rhythm right. I’ve seen people forget that the amount of syllables affects the quality of the poem, it distinguishes a good poem from a poor one.

    If you’re ever bored I put up a semi-interesting post/announcement on my blog: http://bit.ly/6rVDYI

    Keep up the good work!
